Lily and Bart got married and Rufus that was tossed aside if huddled up in a corner somewhere bemoaning his loss. Georgina is ready to take on anything that as much as blinks at her. Chuck has also gone back in time to when it was all about escaping his father’s larger than life image. And Serena just played Serena as she did not surprise anyone when she had sex with Blair’s boyfriend Dan. Everything had a season 1 feel to it.

But once again Blair is now in the arms of Chuck. But this is nothing new although there seems to be a ring of permanence to this one. Yet again, all the other times also sounded and looked permanent but the difference with this one is that the show is entering its final season. Some drama would have to play itself out come next season but it now looks like either Chuck would have her in the end or no one else would.

Dan seems totally out of it. He had sex with Serena. But beyond that it was Blair who by all indication does not even know of his indiscretion that actually sought Chuck out. A question this raised is that it would be strange if Blair had not officially broken up with Dan before going to Chuck because nothing was shown. Of course the show runners may have a plan fans are not yet aware of. They have met or something would have happened off screen that would later be brought to the attention of fans with a flash back.

And if they want to follow this idea in season 6, it could very well make or mar or just basically interpret the kind and nature of relationship Blair will not just have with Dan but with Chuck. But in this season’s finale, Chuck first of all rejected her advances when she came out boldly to say that she wanted them to get back together. But as the episode progressed things culminated into the casino scene where they finally hooked up.

Bart for all his time away from screen had not added an ounce of human feelings as he made a short work of cutting Chuck off. And it was done in such a cold blooded manner that it drove Chuck right into the camp of Jack Bass who had always wanted to take him down. And if they really combine forces it would be easy to read the handwriting on the wall for Bart as far as the coming finale season is concerned. It would be a miracle if he does not go down.

But fans of Dan and Blair could really kiss that relationship goodbye unless something has already played out that they don’t know with respect to the off-screen incident we speculated on a while ago. It was an interesting finale.

Blair must make the big choice between Dan or Chuck; Lola reflects on Nate asking her to move in with him; Lily makes a final decision regarding her marriage.

But before getting into that, here’s how the mystery of Bart Bass unraveled in episode 23.

So Bart finally revealed that he faked his death. Although the car accident was real, it was all premeditated but for a very justifiable albeit daunting reason: their lives, including Lily’s, were all threatened. A business rival named Nevens plotted to kill him so to spare them from danger, so he had to appear nonexistent. Bart was already preparing her immediate departure to another country.

But Chuck was determined to get his father back—as in officially alive and residing in New York—and to succeed in that, he must eliminate the very reason why his father had to leave. Chuck realized that this was a mission he couldn’t do alone, so he asked the assistance of an equally devious persona: Blair Waldorf.

Blair agreed but in so doing, she had to skip her and Dan’s interview for the writing fellowship in Rome. Instead, she asked Serena to fill in for and AS her. And so, the blonde lass arrived under the guise of Blair, complete with a headband. S initially covered for B but eventually admitted that Blair was out trying to help Chuck resolve the case of his father. While B’s no-show at the interview was all for a perfectly noble reason, it put Dan in a rather uneasy state, especially that he has been uncertain about B’s feelings for him for quite some time. After all, he was yet to hear her say the three words. These doubts would have pushed Dan to turn down the program offer if it weren’t for his girlfriend’s prodding.

Meanwhile, B’s brilliant scheme was to send in a pair of prostitutes to Nevens and frame him up. Ivy and Lola stood in to fill those fairly crucial roles. However, the plan was spoiled when Chuck’s private investigator Andrew showed up. When everyone congregated at Bart’s hideout, it was discovered that Andrew actually worked for Nevens although forcibly (or so he claims). His confession gave the cue for the police nearby to arrest him and then the mastermind. Mission accomplished.

But before one can say “they all lived happily ever after”, Gossip Girl posted that she currently have on hand Blair’s very own diary, thanks to Serena. With the outright betrayal yet to be confirmed, it looks like the season finale will be nothing short of explosive.

He stated that he always wanted to try on acting, as it was always in his interest to give it a try, and he added that when the chance presented itself, he was very eager to take full advantage of it. Besides that, there is no news about his role or what will he do on Gossip Girl all that is known that he will not play the role of a musician.

Gabe Saporta is known for being the former lead performer of Midtown, the pop punk outfit band, and he then created his own band in 2003 named Cobra Starship. This band has created 4 covers; the last one was Night Shades that was released last year in May.

Serena must be Blair’s double when Blair finds herself needed in multiple places at once; Chuck enlists the help of both Ivy & Lola in order to carry out a revenge plot; Nate sorts out his future with Diana Payne.

So shocked was the girl that she asks Chuck to look again on ‘Raiders of the Lost Art.’

Bart hasn’t been seen on the series since an accident in second season. He was presumed to be dead back then. The writers, however, could bring him back because neither his dead body was shown, nor any of the major characters attended his funeral on that fateful episode.

It’s not only a question of ‘how’ he could come back. Bart’s arrival also makes one thinking, ‘why’ he has returned, and if there is a possible connection between him, Diana and Bart.

Whatever his motive, he brings back with him the old charm which keeps one on the edge of their seats.

From the beginning, it is evident everyone tonight has a agenda and half the characters are being used as pawns without even being aware of it. Suddenly the series is alive once again as all the buried secrets and unsolved plots begin to converge for a final showdown.

The only downside of this week’s episode was bringing that young girl all way to the mansion and then letting her escape with a laptop. And no even bothers to look for her!

But this was such a huge episode, that it’s understandable for such ridiculous storylines to creep in. Thankfully it doesn’t affect the whole arc.

The most intriguing part of the episode is when Bart, Jack and Diana try to convince Gossip Girl to keep silent about the secret which no one (except for those four, of course) know.

Serena may no longer be the one pulling the strings but it hasn’t stopped her from living in her own cuckoo land. Nate has already told her she is not the woman, he once knew.

This week she appears to come to her senses. Though she is as unpredictable as ever. Will she try to regain the notoriety? Or is this the beginning of reunion of the gang of Chuck, Blair, Nate and Serena?

Chuck knows well that he will need Blair‘s help to break that formidable code. So the three set out to complete the mission with Blair dressed up in a sexy attire and armed with her snobbish British accent.

Nothing is impossible when they work together.

On the lighter side, the credit for the most hilarious moment in the season goes to Serena and Dorota. And the joke has played out fully. The next season if going to be equally blasting.

Diana and Jack have a deep dark secret; Chuck investigates to find out what is really going on; Dan gets an offer to study abroad in Rome.

1. Blair: Different facets of Blair personality are portrayed in this episode. Sometimes, she is trying to do makeover of her image and sometimes she fails to meet her goals purely because of her awareness about other factors. She seems to be totally confused in the pursuit of winning the battle. She seems to be done with the plotting and planning and want to live a real life. Perhaps, in this attempt she has gone too far to find out who her real friends and foes are. She dotes on Dair who seems to get affected with the beauties around every now and then. Dair is also trying to get the things straight but fails to do so.

2. Lily: Another makeover is Lily. She is trying to be as wicked as she can. But this entire persona adopted is just to avenge on Carol. She has chosen the heart way to get hold of Carol’s property half of which is already hers. As far as execution is concerned, the plan is brilliant but the plan has lost all his teeth because of half the job already done. So, Lily has become more like a victim of poor scripting, still trying to live the character with all the given limitations and loopholes. All that is portrayed at the end is her longing for having a family rather than estate and bank balance.

3. Serena: Serena’s character is yet to be developed yet. She behaves like a dumbo or should say is portrayed like a dumbo by being unaware of the security options available on the wonderful modern gadgets like iPhone. This dumbness perhaps is going to be the precursor of many interesting moments taking place in the future. All information is now with Lola who has raised the curiosity level among the audience about her possible next moves related to using the stolen information.

Other interesting moments are contributed by Diana whose secrets are now out. The needle of doubt is swinging like pendulum over Jack and Nate as it is yet to be clear who out of these two is Chuck’s father. Age, confusions created by Diana and various interesting incidents are keeping the truth for coming out for the time being.

William has gained all the sympathy in the world as her goodness has started touching the audience’s heart. He is seen more like a personality torn apart in trying to be in respectable terms with all the four women in his life. How he takes care of the property and who he sees as the best heir for it are going to be the highlights of future episodes.

Till then, Gossip Girl is all about confusion, speculation, planning and plotting at its worst.

The episode was titled ‘Salon of the Dead‘ and one of the biggest reveal of the night was about the connection between Diana and Chuck. It is now official that Diana is the mother of Charles Bass. It was a big reveal but Chuck had probably seen it coming for some time now since he started adding things together.

It started with Lola’s quest to unravel the mystery behind Serena. The story she gave of Bart, Diana and Elizabeth was quite believable but there was something that did not just add up. This was what raised the hairs on Chuck’s neck.

In the end, Diana after giving birth to Chuck gave him up to Bart and Elizabeth who then went to great lengths to keep it secret. It still leaves Chuck all out in the open even now that he is now aware of the full details. His response is the next thing but its any body’s guess how that will go.

Did Ed West nail the emotions that he was supposed to show? But with the way things went, what were the emotions he was supposed to show anyway. Fans would really be interested in knowing the direction things will go from here. But the way this story finally came out points to something else.

There is a high chance that Diana has something else that she is hiding or else this one of about Chuck being her son won’t come out so easily. So more questions have been raised with not the just the big reveal but the nature in which it came about. This too can be said of how Lola managed to outwit Serena.

But it seemed very contrived the way Lola got in on what was happening with Diana confession as well as Dan’s book excerpts. It seems as if everybody in ‘Gossip Girl‘ makes it a rule to be careless with sensitive information. And she did not think twice when she decided top post it via live feed. She could have sat on it for a while but now there’s really no going back.

She is meant to return next week and one thing she would have to deal with will be Chuck’s betrayal.

Blair feels like her Upper East Side status might be slipping away and devises a plan to assure that doesn’t happen. Meanwhile, Lily throws a family gathering – including William, Carol and Lola – in an attempt to prove the van der Woodsen family is as united as ever. Finally, Nate digs into Diana’s past and is surprised by what he discovers.
